Kandahar Ski World Cup

Mythical and historic ski race!

From Saturday 30 to Sunday 31 January 2021.

Kandahar returns to "la Verte des Houches" with two Men's Alpine Ski World Cup events: two slaloms, Saturday and Sunday. Two races and entertainment, a world event not to be missed!

The Alpine Ski World Cup, a mythical ski race, has become the biggest event in the Chamonix Valley and contributes greatly to the good reputation of the resort. The race is part of the reference races such as the Wengen and Kitzbuhel descents. The Green slope of Les Houches is the only downhill slope in the Haute Savoie department, homologated "Men's World Cup", a unique and precious privilege.

The Piste Verte des Houches is only "Green" in name. The piste is bordered by fir trees and is oriented from the sun to offer a frozen piste, with green colours, from which it takes its name.

The Piste Verte des Houches is in fact a black piste with a difference in altitude of 870 m and 3343 metres in length. The best skiers in the world can ski down it in two minutes. A series of highly technical passages and jumps, including the Break and the Goulet, guarantee that this descent is one of the most beautiful in the world.  It is the only downhill run of the "Men's World Cup" circuit approved by the FIS in the department.
